About us
TransLiteration has been created by Olbico to support the global Data Quality community.
What is transliteration?
Transliteration is a mapping from one system of writing into another. In this solution it was done letter by letter. Click on transliteration sets to see all the mappings.
Why transliteration?
With this solution it is very easy to create the same name (phonetically) in different character sets. From a data quality point of view you need to know if one name (for example) - written in the Cyrillic character set - is the same name as written in the Latin character set. This is important because you don't want double records in your database. Also you can also use this solution to find persons in politically exposed persons (pep) or sanction lists written in different character sets.
